Sunset Engagements in the Mountains
Sabrina + Dana were one of the couples who’s wedding was affected by COVID-19, but they’ve rolled with the punches + actually ended up getting married in the middle of it all! My heart goes out to all the couples who’s wedding plans have changed lately, but I’m also extremely grateful to get to work with awesome couples like these two who make the best of it.
Sabrina and Dana live a few hours away from Boise, so we decided to meet in the middle for their engagement photos! The road up to the spot we had originally planned for ended up being closed, but true to these two we made the best of it and had a little impromptu adventure of our own! We found this gorgeous spot on the side of the highway, and even though it was insanely cold, we explored a little and created some seriously cool photos. And holy cow, the sun did it’s pretty thing giving the sweetest, softest light in the background. After about 10-15 minutes we couldn’t take the cold anymore and drove back down the valley to where the wind wasn’t quite as bad haha. We found this little dirt road and took a few photos there, and then drove a little further until we found the perfect hill to climb as the sun dipped behind the mountains.
Sabrina and Dana have been through a lot together, and I really wanted to capture how they felt about each other-the way they smile at each other, what their hearts are saying through their eyes-all of those feelings. Throughout the time we spent together it was so easy to see how much they love each other, and how happy they are when they’re together. I wanted to be able to show them in their photos what I and the people who know them can plainly see on the outside. THIS is why I loved taking pictures of these two and why I center my work around couples. I want them to always remember how much they love each other-because remembering that can get them through anything.
Sabrina + Dana, I’m so so happy for you. You’re the sweetest couple and I loved having this adventure with you! 🙂 Thanks for being real with me + trusting me with these memories. 🙂
